Thailand Adoption Program – NEW!

Thailand is a stable and well-established adoption program.  MAA works primarily with the Thai Red Cross Children’s Home (TRC), a children’s home located within a large hospital complex. The children are generally age 1 to 5 years old, though occasionally older children are in need of adoption. The children generally receive excellent medical care, but need a forever family to give them the individual love and attention they deserve.

MAA receives a quota for the number of families’ applications we can submit each year requesting to adopt a younger child with needs generally considered mild. Quota spots are assigned to a family when they have a completed dossier ready to submit to Thailand. Children referred to waiting families may be medically healthy, or may have medical needs that have already been treated/resolved or are well-managed. They may have mild developmental delays in speech, motor skills, or other areas. All the children in need of adoption will have difficult backgrounds or risk factors.

There are also occasionally waiting children in need of adoption. These children may be older, or they may have medical or developmental needs. Eligibility guidelines can be flexible for families adopting waiting children. Email Sarah Hansen (Sarah@children.adoptionsbygladney.com) to learn about the children we are currently advocating for.

Children adopted from Thailand will enter the U.S. on an IH-4 .  Adoptions are finalized in the United States, and the adoption is completed through your local family court system.

If you are interested in this program, we invite you to contact Sarah Hansen (Sarah@MadisonAdoption.org) to discuss your individual situation or inquire about current children available for adoption.

Adoption between the United States and Thailand is governed by the Hague Adoption Convention. Thailand is party to the Hague Convention on Protection of Children and Co-operation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption. Therefore all adoptions between Thailand and the United States must meet the requirements of the Convention and U.S. law implementing the Convention.
