Social Worker
Marty Cardona has been an international adoption social worker for more than four decades. Marty has six adult children, two of whom were born in South Korea and adopted at age 3 and 5 years.
Marty has worked many years in education including positions as a speech therapist, Director of Special Education and elementary principal. She is the founder of Love the Children of Rochester, an adoptee and family support group that is celebrating its fortieth year in 2022. She has worked with families adopting from many different countries and also works in a program providing support to families post adoption until their children are 21 years old.
Marty has a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree in Speech Pathology from Nazareth College of Rochester as well as post graduate certificates from SUNY Brockport and University of Rochester in school administration. Her adoption training was provided by Monroe County Department of Social Services.
