Social Worker

Margaret Bernstein joined MAA in 2022 as we opened our New York Office. Margaret has been an Adoption Social Worker for over 15 years working in both Domestic and International Adoption completing both home studies and permanency work. Margaret has a deep compassion and commitment to adoption work, helping families through the adoption process. Her greatest pleasure is the post adoption visits where she gets to see the happiness in the couples’ faces with their child.

Margaret holds two Masters degree. She received her first Master’s degree at Queens College in Counseling Education. Years later she returned to school to receive her Masters in Social Work at Adelphi University. She is licensed in the State of NY as a LMSW. Margaret’s work experiences include Guidance Counselor for the NYC DOE; as a Social Worker, she has worked in Early Intervention, schools and hospitals. She currently works for the Office of Mental Health (OMH) and is an Adjunct Instructor for Empire State College.

Margaret is a proud mother of 2 children, 3 dogs and 1 cat. She enjoys spending time with her family, siblings and friends. Her hobbies include, exercising, running, and yoga. She is also an artist.
