ANNUAL ADULT ADOPTEE WRITING CONTEST
2021

“If you could sit with your younger self for an hour or two, what advice would you give them?”

We invite you, MAA family adoptee 16 or older, to participate in our 1st annual adult adoptee writing contest. We value your voice, and we would like to take this opportunity to hear from you, and share your words with the adoptive community. There is a $500 prize which will be awarded to the writer of the winning essay. It is required that the prize money be put towards your future educational and/or vocational endeavors (tuition, books, college applications, training workshops, etc), or towards exploration of your identity as an adoptee and/or your culture/heritage (homeland trips, conferences, etc).

GUIDELINES: In 1,000-1,250 words, please answer the question above. There are no requirements regarding the specific topic you choose to write about, but we ask that your essay, in whatever way you see fit, answers the question.

Essay is due by December 31, 2021
