Waiting Child Coordinator
Lydia Stewart joined Madison Adoption Associates in 2009. Lydia developed an interest in international adoption while volunteering in several orphanages in Quito, Ecuador as a college undergraduate. She worked around the clock feeding, changing and caring for the children, including those with special needs. Lydia quickly gained a love for the children and wanted to take several home with her at the end of her time in Ecuador. Her goal continues to be helping orphans find caring families and homes. Lydia has traveled to China many times with MAA, spending time with the children and hoping, one day, every child will feel the love of a family. Lydia worked as a MAA Caseworker for several years, and also completed evaluations for the SWAN Program. She is now a valuable part of MAA’s advocacy team.
Lydia graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor Degree in English. She furthered her education by earning a Master Degree in Counseling and Educational Psychology from West Chester University. She is happily married and has a daughter and son.
