Social Worker / Adoption and Permanency Specialist
Julie graduated with her bachelor’s in social work from Cairn University and later received her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. She started working as a foster care caseworker following her bachelor’s degree and has never looked back. Julie has worked in foster care and adoptions for almost 20 years, taking a short break to be a stay-at-home mom to her two kids for 8 of those years. Even while navigating mom life, foster care and adoption work has always been a part of her life, finding opportunities to volunteer for various agencies. Julie joined the MAA Western PA branch in 2021 and has enjoyed getting back into her role as a social worker with post permanency families while still balancing mom life. In her free time, you can find Julie chauffeuring her kids to various activities, traveling with her family and cheering on their favorite sports teams.
