Bulgaria – Post Adoption Reports (PAR)

Most countries have either post placement or post adoption reporting requirements in addition to any state reporting requirements.  It is imperative that you comply with agency and/or country requirements because these reports are often the only reassurance the placing country receives to know that the children are doing well.

For Bulgaria, we request that you submit written post adoption reports to MAA at one month, six months, 12 months, 18 months, 2 years, 2.5 years, and 3 years after you arrive home with your child.  These reports must be completed by your home study agency.  In cases where families must use an agency different than their home study agency, the agency must still be a Hague Accredited agency.  The reports should include 8 photos of your child with captions, with details about the health and well-being of the child, and information on how your family is adjusting.  The reports need to be notarized and apostilled.  We will forward these reports to the officials in the foreign country.

Please contact MAA if you have any questions.
