Anne-Marie Dobies, Ed.D.

Anne-Marie (Annie) Dobies officially joined MAA in the summer of 2022, but has been volunteering alongside the MAA team for nearly five years as an adoption advocate for families adopting from FANA, an orphanage in Colombia.

Annie has been a strong advocate for adoption for over 20 years as she and her husband Eric have had the privilege of adopting two children from FANA – Jackson, age 19, and Isabella, age 16. The Dobies Family are active members of Families of FANA, WNY, an adoption support group, and work to help children with diverse needs find their forever homes.

Annie received a Doctor of Education from the University of Rochester in 2018. In addition, she holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and two master’s degrees (Higher Education and Counseling) from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY.  She has worked with in the fields of higher education, disability support services, and technology for over 30 years. Her specialty is in the area of the ADA as it relates to individuals with special needs/disabilities.

Annie is thrilled to be part of the MAA Team and assist families through their journey to enhance their families.
